HANA YORI DANGO

(Food than Flower)

A long time ago, there were two girls called Ikuko and Yuka. They were very good friends.
One spring day, they decided to go to the forest to see the Sakura.(Cherry trees.) The reason why are they going to the forest is because it is the best place to see the Cherry trees. It was a very sunny day so they thought it was the best day for flower viewing. They started to pack their lunch and other things. Ikuko has already prepared but Yuka
was still preparing something.
"What you doing Yuka? I'm waiting for you!" said Ikuko.
"OK!! Just a minuite I'll be there in a moment." answered Yuka.
About five minuites later Yuka was ready, so they went to the forest for flower viewing. When they arrived there, there were very beautifl cherry trees all around there. Ikuko was really happy to see that, because she really liked the flowers.
"What a beautiful sight isn't it?"asked Ikuko and looked her way, but Yuka wasn't seeing the flower, she was eating "dango" which was her favorite food.
She was eating, eating and eating. She didn't stop eating. Then, Ikuko got angry and said "Why are you eating so much? We came here for flower viewing didn't we?" But Yuka said, "I like eating "dango" more than flower viewing, you know."
So Ikuko got really angry and left that place and went somewhere else. A few minuites later the dark clouds came upon her sky and it began to rain. The rain got stronger and stronger as the time went by. Yuka felt worried about about Ikuko so she began to look for her. She walked and walked, she shouted Ikuko's name again and again then, she found Ikuko sitting by a tree. She was glad to find her, but at that time, they couldn't see the way back home, because of the hard rain. They got lost in the dark forest, so they had to camp out. Their physical strength was limited. On that occasion, Yuka took "dango" from her bag. She still had many "dango" in her bag, so both of them(Yuka and Ikuko) could eat their fill. The next day they could hardly get back home.
  "Dango kept them alive"
Happening on this day made them think that the thing in daily life, for example foods, water, and so on are more important than extra things like flowers. So it is "Hana yori Dango" (food than flower)

(*Dango is food made from sweet rice and espesially children like it.)
