Ki wo Mite Mori wo Mizu

(Can't see the forest for the trees)

Once upon a time in Masui kingdom, there was a very rich king
whose name was Shinji Masui fifth. He found large oil fields, so he earned more than one million dollars a day. He was not only a rich man but also a lover of animals and plants. And his hobby was traveling the world.
One day he took a trip to Japan and found wonderful pine trees.
He bought some good ones and planted them in his big garden. The
next day he went to Switzerland and bought pretty flowers called edelweiss. As soon as he got home, he planted them next to the pine trees. After several days he traveled to China. No sooner had he arrived at Chon-tu than he shouted, "What an excellent panda!" Of course he bought it along with bamboo. He also planted the bamboo trees next to the beautiful edelweiss. The more he visited countries, the more his garden was filled with many kinds of trees and flowers. Eventually, it became like a forest.
He visited America for the first time in ten years. He met a beautiful lady whose name was Kristin, the queen of the USA.
And they fell in love. She gave him nice christmas trees. He planted them next to the bamboo. Every day he took care of all his lovely plants carefully.
One day, he decided to invite Kristin to "Masui Kingdom," and wrote a letter to her:
"Dear Kristin, I would like to show you my wonderful garden. Would you please come to my country as soon as possible? Love always, Shinji."
On receiving the letter, she went to his country in her jet. While her jet was approaching his country, she shouted, "Oh no!! How dirty and excessive his garden is! I can't believe it." She returned to her house without seeing him.
In fact what with western trees and asian plants, his garden was really crazy. Of course since he had always taken care of them in his garden, each of his trees or flowers was very wonderful; however, he hadn't seen the whole of his garden.
As a result, he didn't achieve beauty in the whole of his garden. In addtion he lost his lovely girlfriend. In other word, he mistook the whole because he had almost always been swayed by particulars.

Therefore "Ki wo mite mori wo mizu."
